How to Add Evidence to an Existing Observation on Android Devices

In the CaptuData mobile app, you can add additional evidence — such as photos, audio, videos, or text notes — to an existing observation, as long as the inspection has not yet been finalized.

Follow these steps to add new evidence 👇

Step 1: Open the Observation List

Within your project, go to the list of observations and tap on the observation you want to update.
A new screen will appear similar to the one shown in the example image.

On this screen, you’ll see a gallery displaying all previously collected evidence linked to that observation.

At the bottom of the screen, you’ll also find buttons to add new evidence, which include:

  • 📷 Photo

  • 🎙️ Audio

  • 🎥 Video

  • 📝 Text

Simply tap the icon for the type of evidence you want to add and follow the app’s prompts.

Notes

You can only add or delete evidence from an observation while the inspection is still open.

Once the inspection has been finalized, editing options will no longer be available.

IdeaAdding new evidence to an existing observation helps you keep your inspection records complete and ensures that all relevant data is properly documented before finalizing the inspection.
