How to Perform a Route-Type Inspection on iOS Devices

When performing a route-type inspection in CaptuData, the app allows you to record your route while capturing evidence such as photos, videos, audio, and text in real time.

Follow the steps below to start your route-based inspection 👇


Step 1: Create the Inspection

After selecting the Route-Type option and tapping “Create”, a screen will appear displaying the projects available for inspection.

To begin, tap on the name of the project where you want to carry out the inspection.


Step 2: Allow Location Access

When you start a route-type inspection, your device will ask for permission to access location services.

WarningImportant: You must allow this access to ensure the app functions correctly and records your route accurately.

You’ll see a message like the one shown in the example image.


Step 3: Start the Inspection

Once permission is granted, a new screen will open displaying a map with your current location and a Play (▶️) button.

To begin the inspection:

  1. Tap the Play button.

  2. The app will activate the tools to capture:

    • 📷 Photos

    • 🎙️ Audio

    • 🎥 Video

    • 📝 Text notes

  3. The top bar will display live indicators, including:

    • Speed

    • Distance

    • Duration

    • Altitude

Result: The inspection will start recording your route and all associated evidence automatically.

Notes
  • Keep your GPS enabled at all times for accurate tracking.

  • You can pause or finish the inspection at any time using the on-screen controls.

  • Make sure to synchronize your data once you reconnect to the internet to upload your inspection results
