How to Perform a Form-Type Inspection on iOS Devices

Form-type inspections are carried out using a predefined form created by the project administrators.
This type of inspection allows users to answer structured questions and attach evidence as needed.

Follow the steps below to perform a form-type inspection

Step 1: Start a New Inspection

  1. Open the CaptuData mobile app.

  2. Tap “New Inspection.”

  3. Under “Type of Inspection,” select “Form.”

  4. Choose the form you wish to use for your inspection — as shown in the example image.

Result: The inspection will be created and added to your inspection list.

Step 2: Identify a Form-Type Inspection

Once created, the inspection will appear in your list of inspections and can be identified by a specific icon, as shown in the image.
This icon helps distinguish form-type inspections from other inspection types (such as route-based).

Step 3: Open and Fill Out the Form

  1. Tap on the inspection to automatically open the corresponding form.

  2. Fill out each question or field as required.

  3. For each question, you can also attach supporting evidence, such as:

    • 📝 Text

    • 📷 Photo

    • 🎥 Video

    • 🎙️ Audio

Result: Your responses and evidence will be recorded and saved in the system.

Notes
  • Verify that you have selected the correct form before beginning.

  • Keep your GPS enabled and grant camera and microphone permissions if you plan to attach evidence.

  • You can work offline, and your inspection will automatically sync when you reconnect to the internet
