How to Pause or Finish a Route-Type Inspection on iOS Devices
The pause and finish options in route-type inspections allow you to manage your fieldwork more efficiently — whether you need to take a short break or end the inspection completely.
Follow the steps below to learn how to pause or finalize your inspection 👇
Pause an Inspection
The pause function can be used when you need to take a short break but plan to continue the inspection later.
This ensures that your recorded route and data are not lost.
Steps:
Tap the Pause (⏸️) button on the inspection screen.
The app will temporarily stop recording your route.
💡 Recommendation: Wait 30 seconds to 1 minute before tapping the Play (▶️) button again.
This gives your device’s GPS time to recalibrate to your actual location and ensure accurate tracking when resuming.
✅ Result: The inspection will resume smoothly from where you paused.
Finish an Inspection
When you’ve completed your route and wish to close the inspection:
Tap the “Finish” button on the screen.
A confirmation alert will appear asking if you’re sure you want to finalize the inspection.
Tap “Confirm” to end it.
✅ Result: The inspection will be marked as complete and saved in your inspection list.
Important NotesOnce finalized, the inspection can no longer be edited or modified.
Make sure you’ve captured all necessary evidence (photos, videos, notes, etc.) before finishing.
Remember to synchronize your inspection once you’re back online so the data is uploaded to the CaptuData platform.
